11 Σεπ 2023 · The elbow joint is a synovial joint found in the upper limb between the arm and the forearm. It is the point of articulation of three bones: the humerus of the arm and the radius and the ulna of the forearm. The elbow joint is classified structurally as a synovial joint.

2 Νοε 2023 · The elbow joint consists of two separate articulations: Trochlear notch of the ulna and the trochlea of the humerus; Head of the radius and the capitulum of the humerus; Note: The proximal radioulnar joint is found within same joint capsule of the elbow, but most resources consider it as a separate articulation.
30 Οκτ 2023 · On the lateral aspect of the proximal ulna and just distal to the trochlear notch lies the shallow, rounded depression called the radial notch. The radial notch articulates with the circumference of the radial head and forms the proximal radioulnar joint.
7 Νοε 2020 · The radioulnar joints are two locations in which the radius and ulna articulate in the forearm: Proximal radioulnar joint – located near the elbow. It is articulation between the head of the radius and the radial notch of the ulna. Distal radioulnar joint – located near the wrist.
21 Ιουν 2024 · Gross anatomy. Articulations. The elbow joint is made up of three articulations 2,3: radiohumeral: capitellum of the humerus with the radial head. ulnohumeral: trochlea of the humerus with the trochlear notch (with separate olecranon and coronoid process articular facets) of the ulna.
The radial notch is the smooth, oval, articular indentation found along the lateral aspect of the coronoid process of ulna. Its anterior and posterior margins provide attachment sites for the annular ligament of the radius.
The elbow joint is one of the most complex joints in the human body as it incorporates 3 articulations within its joint capsule, namely the ulno-humeral joint, radio-capitellar joint and the proximal radio-ulnar joint.
