3 Νοε 2023 · The distal radioulnar joint is the articulation between the crescent-shaped convex distal head of ulna and the concave ulnar notch of radius. Both surfaces are lined by the hyaline cartilage. The joint contains a triangular fibrocartilaginous articular disc.
7 Νοε 2020 · The radioulnar joints are two locations in which the radius and ulna articulate in the forearm: Proximal radioulnar joint – located near the elbow. It is articulation between the head of the radius and the radial notch of the ulna. Distal radioulnar joint – located near the wrist.
3 Νοε 2023 · The proximal radioulnar joint is a synovial joint that connects the proximal ends of the radius and ulna. In this joint, the circumferent head of radius is placed within the ring formed by the radial notch of ulna and the annular ligament. This configuration makes this joint a pivot joint.
11 Αυγ 2024 · The sigmoid notch of the distal radius is concave and hemicylindrical. with three distinct margins: a sharp dorsal margin, a smoother palmar. margin, and a distal margin, which is the junction between the lunate. facet and the sigmoid notch (Fig. 43.1).
30 Οκτ 2023 · On the lateral aspect of the proximal ulna and just distal to the trochlear notch lies the shallow, rounded depression called the radial notch. The radial notch articulates with the circumference of the radial head and forms the proximal radioulnar joint.
18 Νοε 2022 · The DRUJ is a pivot joint between the distal radius and ulna that allows forearm rotation in conjunction with grasping function of the hand. Its osseous components are the radial sigmoid notch; the ulnar head, consisting of the hub and seat; the fovea; and the styloid (Fig 1) (1).
The radial head is tightly bound into the radial notch of the ulna by the anular ligament that secures it in place. The two articulating surfaces are covered by a synovial membrane, over which lies the joint capsule.
