Rating: 2021-09-13. Big Disappointment. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months. After watching some you tube videos done by radio amateurs, I decided to buy SA7000. I am aware this is NOT an active antenna. The HF performance is below of anything comparable and it's a big disappointment.

Having owned several different Uniden and Radio Shack scanners over the years, I've found the new AOR 8200 MKIII beats them all hands down. Superior performance above even the better base scanners makes this handheld a definite winner!
10 Ιαν 2016 · You have correctly pointed out the difference in needs between the UK (and Europe in general) and the US market. And now with the latest FW updates, 1512A and 1512D, the AR-DV1 is really performing much better than originally, with all the features you have described in great detail.

Most scanner antennas are a compromise. Normally a coil in an antenna is to "separate" the eliments such as with a half over a quarter wave dual band 2m/440. Same effect with a receiver. For portable reception it probably does not make a whole lot of difference.
