24 Αυγ 2011 · Raichu is useful when you have a Discharge partner, such as Thundurus or Zapdos. This is where Fake Out comes in. Their choice is a hard one. They either get one pokemon disabled for a turn and let Raichu get hit by a Discharge, giving it a boost, or double Protect and still let Raichu get a boost.

Raichu has a niche in NU of being a Nasty Plot user who can setup on Chansey and 1v1 it. Nasty Plot gives Raichu a Special Attack boost, allowing it to break past defensive Pokemon easier. Draining Kiss might sound weird on this set, but it's the move that lets Raichu setup on Chansey.
Check out Raichu Pokémon Scarlet & Violet data. Static: The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with PARALYZE when using an attack, that requires physical contact, against this Pokémon. Lightningrod: Electric-type moves are drawn to this Pokémon. Electric-type moves will do no damage and the Pokémon's SP ATK is raised one stage.
