A few weeks back, a friend of mine sent me a photo of the new railbikes that run on the Skunk Train tracks in Mendocino. These unique “bikes” feature four large wheels that match up with the train tracks and two seats so that two people can pedal (or use the electric assist) along the rails.
The rail bikes are awesome, but for a 2+ hour tour, you’re only on them for 30 mins. There is an electric component, so the 3 miles each way of track isn’t nearly enough to charge what they did. If this was a $50 per person experience, great. But at $265 per bike, this is a total rip off. Would not recommend at this price.

18 Ιουλ 2024 · Review of: Skunk Train: Pudding Creek Express from Fort Bragg My first time on the Skunk Train, and it did not disappoint. Great weather, friendly crew/staff, even the lunch was good (I did the VIP package).
16 Αυγ 2018 · The weather was perfect, the staff friendly and the ride a few miles east of Ft Bragg was great. We stayed in the open carriage the for the whole hour. The scenery beautiful and the commentary was very informative and entertaining.
