The adoption fee is $35.00 plus a $50.00 deposit toward spay/neuter for dogs and/or $40.00 for cats. There is a written contract which the adopting owner must sign which requires that any animal which has not already been altered shall be spayed or neutered by a deadline set by the shelter.
We offer adoptions of cats and dogs. People from any and everywhere are more than welcome to adopt from us. Our adoption fees are $85 for cats, and it varies from $100 - $150 for dogs.
HSRC offers spay and neuter vouchers for low-income citizens of Raleigh County. This is the most effective way to combat pet overpopulation. These vouchers offer 30% off the procedure and can be used with a select network of vets.
The Humane Society of Raleigh County, Inc. is a non-profit organization which has been serving people and pets since 1979. Its mission is to prevent animal abuse and neglect. By agreement with the Raleigh County Commission and the City of Beckley, the Humane Society enforces state and local laws pertaining to animals but is not a government agency.
