Rancid were formed in 1991 by vocalist and guitarist Tim Armstrong and bassist Matt Freeman, who then recruited drummer Brett Reed. The band signed to Lookout!

Rancid is a 2004 English-language Swedish thriller film, written by Jesper Ersgård and directed by Jack Ersgard. [1] Once a promising young writer, John barely makes a living doing odd jobs. After a personal tragedy he is now stuck in a negative mood and dispassionate about his work.

Rancid (also known as Rancid 5 or Rancid 2000 to avoid confusion with their debut album) is the fifth studio album by the American punk rock band Rancid, released on August 1, 2000. It is the second eponymous album and the first to be released through frontman Tim Armstrong's label, Hellcat Records.
