11 Αυγ 2023 · If you’re short on time, here’s a quick answer to your question: The price paid for raw sheep wool varies quite a bit based on the wool’s quality but generally ranges from $10-20 per kilogram for medium grades up to $25 or more per kilogram for very high-quality fine wool.
A pound of washed wool, however, ranged from $35 all the way to $64. Wool is graded into different categories based on texture. Certain kinds of sheep produce fine wool, while others grow medium and coarse wools. There are also long-wool varieties of sheep.
Unwashed (Raw) Wool! The sheep work very hard, sorting through each fleece (aka skirting) to be sure you only receive the best part of each fleece. Our sheep are encouraged to live happy, carefree lives so please know that the fleece we offer are rarely from covered or coated sheep.

11 Ιουλ 2022 · This 1 kg box of scoured raw natural sheep's wool is exactly what it says on the tin - 1kg of pure wool - it has simply been collected from the farmers and washed. So it may even have some little pieces of plant substance left behind - this is because it's a raw, natural product that hasn't been processed yet!
Our raw Romney fleece is ideal for many different projects. It can provide excellent winter protection for Bee Hives. The natural properties of Romney raw fleece means it is an insulator which absorbs moisture, it is mould resistant, and the lanolin content prevents water soaking in and keeps relatively dry.
