Product Description. Typical of the boats in the PT-103 class, built for the U.S. Navy between 1942 and 1945, PT-109 is famed for having been commanded by future U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
During World War II, the U.S. Navy used PT patrol boats to monitor the islands of the Pacific, which are characterized by reefs and atolls. Some crews individualized their boats and decorated them with the unusual "nose arts" known from bombers and fighter planes of the same time.
