As a music lover from back in the '50s, especially a fan of San Francisco bands, it is weird to me to hear Jefferson Airplane considered unrecognized. From today looking back, that's not inaccurate, but in the '60s they were the most important band among that group, and arguably one of the top bands in the world.
I got into Jefferson Airplane around 4 years ago, at age 14. Never had much interest in the band until I actually listened to a Jefferson airplane essentials on Apple Music. While crown of creation and volunteers consumed attention for the next year, I always had a fascination with Today. At around age 15-16 I had a 2 month relationship with a guy.
Jefferson Airplane was an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1965. One of the pioneering bands of psychedelic rock, the group defined the San Francisco Sound and was the first from the Bay Area to achieve international commercial success.
"Today" is a folk rock ballad written by Marty Balin and Paul Kantner from the band Jefferson Airplane. It first appeared on their album Surrealistic Pillow with a live version later appearing on the expanded rerelease of Bless Its Pointed Little Head .
