A rear axle parts diagram provides a visual representation of the different components that make up the rear axle assembly. It helps mechanics and vehicle owners identify and locate specific parts, ensuring they can accurately diagnose and address any issues that may arise.
Differential Exploded views of American Axle (AAM – GM and Chrysler Axle Assemblies) are available here. We stock nearly all of the internal parts for common axle assemblies. These assemblies include those found in rear wheel drive cars, trucks, vans and 4×4’s.
An indicator with 0.001" (0.03 mm) resolution is required. Wheel endplay is the free movement of the tire and wheel assembly along the spindle axis. Correct endplay is 0.001"–0.005" (0.025–0.125 mm). Attach a dial indicator with its magnetic base to the hub or brake drum as shown below.
