10 Δεκ 2019 · Try this: in the Terminal type or paste the following command- exactly: rm ~/Desktop/.DS_Store. Set your icons as desired. Restart to see if they stay put. Each folder has its own hidden file called .DS_Store. It is used to tell the Finder how to display the contents of the folder. The one for the Desktop may have become corrupted.
15 Φεβ 2016 · The icons on my desktop (El Capitan) keep rearranging after every restart. In the same order as well, when I try to rearrange my icons it will let me do so but after a restart the icons revert to the arrangement. Any ideas on why and how to fix it?
26 Φεβ 2019 · I have tried turning settings on and off, resetting the nvram, deleting aliases and recreating them, moving all icons off the desktop... restarting... moving them back. I've tried multiple times and in various combinations.
23 Μαρ 2020 · Whenever I reboot my Mac all of the icons move over to the right side of the screen in alphabetical order. This is my work computer and have many files, folders, & network servers I access multiple times throughout the day.
7 Μαρ 2016 · Mac OS X desktop icons may spontaneously rearrange or become unsorted (scrambled) after restarting or force quitting and restarting the Finder. In these cases, items lose their alphabetical or other sorting, and may scatter to various parts of the desktop.
31 Ιαν 2011 · Go to user(you)>library>preferences, and drag com.apple.finder.plst to the desktop, and reboot. Set your finder preferences to arrange by none, arrange your icons as you like and reboot again, and see if that works.
19 Ιαν 2018 · Restart your Mac; Move 'desktoppicture.db' from your Desktop back to ~/Library/Application Support/Dock (if it was present in the first place) Move a few app icons around in Launchpad to suit your liking; Restart the Mac again to test (your background should also be back to normal if it had been changed during this process)
