15 Φεβ 2023 · On January 19, 2023, the Parliament of Sri Lanka passed the Regulation of Election Expenditure Bill, the first framework to regulate election campaign finance in the country. It regulates “expenditure incurred by candidates” in local, provincial, parliamentary, and presidential elections.
The Sri Lankan delegation was involved in several key meetings, including the General Assembly, the Association of Secretaries General of Parliament (ASGP) meeting, the Asia-Pacific Group meeting, the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, and the Forum of Women Parliamentarians.
