19 Αυγ 2005 · This is a variation of an old trick. There is an explanation, albeit not the mystery it makes itself out to be. SOME, not 98%, people will both think of red and hammer when asked for a color or tool. For the people that answer both correctly, the test seems amazing.
It's possible that, when prompted to think of a tool, most people think of a hammer. Similarly, they think of red when asked for a color. That said, I suspect the 98% figure is fabricated. It would be interesting to do this and have people type in their answer, to see what the actual figure is.
