MAutoPitch (or even just the entire MFreeFX bundle). MAutoPitch is a free autotune plugin with a built-in formant shifter. Simple and works great. The bundle also includes some other awesome plugins, including (but definitely not limited to): MRingModulator.

New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. If you think the amount of stuff to learn is overwhelming then don't add to your "whelm" with more plugins you have to learn. Like others have said: learn the stock stuff first. They are all very good.
I'm like you, I usually use stock plugins to do most of my work in FL. It's true that certain plugins can expand your sound tremendously (for instance, pretty much anything from Native Instruments), but I find that what's more effective is having your own unique touch on your sound.
