It shot out of the earth in a column over 100 feet high. After several weeks of the water running everywhere, they finally capped it.

He would organize the famous Lewis and Clark expedition to explore the territory.
There is evidence of prehistoric human habitation in the region known today as the U.S. state of Wyoming stretching back roughly 13,000 years. Stone projectile points associated with the Clovis, Folsom, and Plano cultures have been discovered throughout Wyoming.
The springs were known to Native Americans, and were a landmark along the Oregon Trail in the middle 19th century. The city is also the location of the Soda Springs Geyser, which was unleashed in 1937 when town fathers were seeking hot water for a hot pool bathing attraction.
