Noted for its cold-hardiness, Prunus persica 'Reliance' is a vigorous and fast-growing peach tree adorned with profuse soft pink blossoms in early-mid spring. They are followed by a heavy crop of medium-sized, freestone, red-blushed yellow fruits in mid-late summer.
Features. ‘Reliance’ begins bearing fruit at an earlier age than most Peach varieties and has a pretty display of pink flowers in spring. This selection produces freestone fruits, which means the pit falls out easily when it’s cut open.
Prunus persica reached Europe from China through Persia. 'Reliance' produces soft pink blossoms in early spring that is followed by medium to large freestone peaches with bright yellow flesh and yellow skin blushed with red. Fruit ripens in early to mid August (USDA Zone 5).
