The Renault 5 is a five-passenger, three or five-door, front-engine, front-wheel drive hatchback supermini manufactured and marketed by the French automaker Renault over two generations: 1972–1985 (also called R5) and 1984–1996 (also called Super 5 or Supercinq).
According to Renault Executive Vice President for Engineering Gilles le Borgne, the Renault 5 EV is expected to be priced starting from €20–25,000; options will include one of two battery packs (40 kWh or 52 kWh), with an expected range of 400 km (250 mi) using the latter. [3]

The Renault 5 Turbo or R5 Turbo is a sport hatchback automobile launched by the French manufacturer Renault at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1980. The car was primarily designed for rallying, but was also sold in a street version.
Due to its technical complexity, Renault 5 Turbo was produced on three sites: at Flins, around 40 km from Paris (for the shell), at Heuliez in Cerizay, around 90 km from Nantes (for adaptation of the shell) and at Alpine in Dieppe, on the Channel (for painting and final assembly).
