It was small; some 14″ shorter than the Rabbit, meaning more directly in the Civic’s ball park. And R&T found it to be a good performer, and economical (33mpg).

I began collecting and restoring mopeds and motorcycles before launching into cars, and today I am proud to share with you my 1983 Renault 5 Alpine Turbo. It has only traveled 85,000km (~52,816mi) since new, and it still drives as it was intended to when the odometer read zero.
As for how it feels on the race track, the R5 Turbo (as it's called in France) is surprisingly quick and impressively nimble with SS tyres. One would expect the car to behave like soap on a wet floor but it's not. It's actually grppier than expected with a demanding yet effective balance of 40:60.
