15 Οκτ 2020 · What we have here is the van version of the legendary Renault 4. A car built to take on the mighty Citroën 2CV, the Renault 4 was just as quirky, just as cute and ultimately, just as French. It was the perfect response to the 2CV.
Launched in 1934, Renault Celtaquatre derived from Monaquatre (the “quatre” (four) in both names a nod to the engine's 4 cylinders). To start with, this model existed only as a saloon, but coupé, cabriolet, coach and even van (Type ADV 1) variants were subsequently launched.
With a loading capacity of 300 kg and an interior volume of almost 2 m3, Renault 4 F4 quickly became THE must-have van for tradesmen, government agencies and leading companies alike. It was also available in a long version, known as F6, which could carry up to 475 kg.
8 Οκτ 2024 · The 4’s appeal waned as the equally practical Renault 5, which was closely related to the 4, sprouted rear doors and got ready for a re-skin. The first to go, on the French market, was the erstwhile Fourgonnette — a.k.a the humble van.
17 Σεπ 2024 · In 2007–2008 Norev introduced re-issues of the 1950s CIJ and Spot-On models and temporarily tried to revive the Provence Moulage range of 1:43 resin models. Today Norev is more active than ever, with a wide choice of 1:43, 1:18 and smaller scale diecast models, with a very interesting quality-price ratio.
3 Ιουλ 2024 · The Renault 4’s chassis / floorpan is completely self-supporting and could be driven without a body if pedals and steering column were supported. Various fibreglass cars have used R4 or R6 chassis. See attached pic for bare chassis.
