The Renault 5 Turbo is more than just a car—it’s an icon of 1980s automotive design and performance. Originally built to dominate rally stages, this mid-engined, turbocharged hot hatch quickly earned a reputation for its blistering speed, unique styling, and motorsport pedigree.
I began collecting and restoring mopeds and motorcycles before launching into cars, and today I am proud to share with you my 1983 Renault 5 Alpine Turbo. It has only traveled 85,000km (~52,816mi) since new, and it still drives as it was intended to when the odometer read zero.
