The following is a summary of the steps a landlord must take, when carrying out a rent review in a RPZ: Check a rent review is permitted – rent reviews in RPZs can only occur once every 12 months; Calculate the new rent – this can be done using the RPZ Rent Review Calculator; Complete a Notice of Rent Review and serve it on the tenant;

Since, 11 December 2021, annual rent increases in RPZs are capped in line with the rate of general inflation or 2% a year, whichever is lower. So, if your landlord reviews the rent every 12 months and the rate of general inflation is 1.5%, then your rent can only be increased by a maximum of 1.5%.

16 Ιουλ 2020 · A Rent Pressure Zone (RPZ) is a designated area where rents cannot be increased by more than 2% per annum pro rata (where general inflation is higher, as recorded by the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)) or than the rate of inflation (per HICP), if lower.
A tenancy, regardless of its location, can only be subject to a rent review after 24 months. After this, rent reviews can be undertaken every 12 months. All rent reviews must follow the rules, including giving a minimum of 90 days’ notice and using the “Rent Review” form.
