Complete Your Education Requirements for Teaching in Indiana. As with all states in the U.S., Indiana requires a bachelor's degree that's part of a teacher preparation program. This requirement should be fulfilled through an accredited college or university as decided by CAEP, formerly NCATE and TEAC.
Indiana teacher certification guidelines require candidates to complete a teacher preparation program at an approved and accredited university, either while earning a bachelor’s degree or after. The bachelor’s degree major should correspond to the grade level and subject area you wish to teach.
