Getting a Professional Educator License in Illinois comes with education and testing requirements. You need at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited school. You also need to have completed a teacher preparation program accepted by the state along with a student teaching experience.
1) Pass the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP), which addresses reading comprehension, language arts, mathematics and writing. 2) Pass the ACT with a minimum composite score of 22 and a writing score of six. OR 3) Pass the SAT with a composite score of at least 1110, and 26 for writing and language for tests.
