The Illinois State Police (ISP) will attempt to improve job skills and advance employee careers by providing training programs and educational opportunities for all personnel. II.

14 Οκτ 2020 · To become an Illinois State Police officer, candidates must be 21 years of age and a citizen of the United States, have no felony convictions, possess a valid driver's license, and be willing to accept assignment anywhere in Illinois.
8 Οκτ 2019 · Starting next year, you will no longer need a bachelor's degree to apply to be a state trooper. They're lowering their education requirements so that more people are able to apply. Applicants will now only need an associate’s degree or 60 credits of course work.
Proof of education claimed may be required during the hiring process. A copy of a certified transcript/degree MUST be submitted to obtain credit for educational achievement for training and experience evaluated titles. To become a police officer in Illinois, you must meet the following basic requirements: Be a US citizen either by birth or naturalization. Be 21 years of age or older at the time of hire. Possess a valid driver’s license. Have a high school diploma or GED. Complete an approved basic training course within six months of initial hire.
