16 Μαρ 2022 · Retsina pairs really well with many Greek dishes, from fish to meat or vegetables (more Retsina food pairing ideas later). It’s excellent served cold by the sea with fried calamari, or enjoyed in a mezedopoleio in the alley taverns of Athens and Thessaloniki.
Retsina is a style of wine which has been made for at least 2,000 years, almost entirely in Greece. Most examples are white though some rosés are also made. Modern examples, while much more delicate than (our understanding of) their ancestors, still display subtle aromas of resin.
Accompanies harmonically grilled fish and fried seafood, grilled vegetables, spicy Asian cuisine dishes and traditional Greek food. Pine resin addition goes a long way back in Greece as it was used to protect the wines from oxidation during antiquity. Honoring that tradition, we vinify.
25 Ιουν 2024 · Where to Find Retsina Wine. You can always find Kourtaki and Malamatina retsina at supermarkets and minimarkets across Greece and at places popular with tourists. Both brands are very affordable but be aware, you do need to drink slowly and eat.

History of the label: Retsina is a famous traditional Greek wine enjoyed for at least 3000 years. Even in modern Greece represents the classical ubiquitous style of wine. It can be found on wine list of every greek tavern, even the most sophisticated upper class restaurants.
