What does Revelation 6:5 mean? In response to the third living creature's command to come, a rider on a black horse emerged. He carried a pair of scales. The color black suggests starvation and death, and the scales suggest something was going to be weighed, judged, or measured. Scales have long been used as a symbol for judgment.
Revelation 6:5-6 meaning. The third seal is broken and the third horseman is revealed. This judgment is famine; the horseman has a pair of scales, with which he can weigh grains and food. Grains and food become costly, indicating that both are becoming increasingly scarce. The third seal is broken in Revelation 6:5-6.
He is the One Who is coming to right all wrongs. He is the One who is will punish the wicked and restore justice, peace and prosperity to a sinful world, that has lost its way. He is coming to judge the world in RIGHTEOUSNESS and to set up His glorious kingdom on earth. Jesus is coming to place all God's enemies under His feet.
Revelation 6 opens with Jesus—the Lamb (Revelation 5:5–7)—beginning to open the seven seals on a scroll containing God's judgment on sin (Revelation 5:1–2). The first seal is opened, and one of the four living creatures around God's throne (Revelation 4:6–8) shouts out a command.
(Revelation 6:5-6) The black horse brings scarcity and inequity. When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.
God's quiver is full of arrows; he is never at a loss for ways and means to punish a wicked people. (3.) In the book of God's counsels he has prepared judgments for scorners as well as mercy for returning sinners.
