I have always rented a car through Hertz, but used Tropic Car rental this year because of the positive experiences that I have read. I just want to make everyone aware of my first experience with Tropic. I asked for the insurance, at an extra charge of $10 per day.
We used Tropic the first time we rented a car on Aruba. Topnotch service! Hans was unable to accommodate subsequent requests for rentals and was gracious enough to steer us elsewhere.
I prefer to go with locally owned and operated agencies on Aruba, as you will be dealing with the owner, or the family of the owner versus random employees of a big agency. Ricky at Wheels 2 Go has been renting vehicles on the island for as long as I have been visiting, over 20 plus years.
