This abstract provides an overview of the Rhesus factor, its history, genetic basis, clinical significance, and current reasearch trends. The presence or absence of the Rh antigen determines an individuals Rh blood type, which can be positive or negative. Rh positive individuals have the antigen, while Rh negative lack it.
