19 Σεπ 2023 · Rhomboid major is a broad quadrilateral muscle that originates from the spinous processes of the second to second to fifth thoracic vertebrae (T2-T5). The muscle extends obliquely in an inferolateral direction to insert into the medial border of scapula, between the inferior angle and root of the spine of scapula.
2 Ιαν 2023 · The rhomboid major is an extrinsic muscle of the shoulder. It is located deep to the trapezius, and inferior to the rhomboid minor. Attachments: Originates from the spinous processes of T2-T5 vertebrae. Attaches to the medial border of the scapula, between the scapula spine and inferior angle. Actions: Retracts and rotates the scapula.
16 Μαΐ 2023 · The rhomboid major is a quadrangular muscle located inferior to the rhomboid minor. The origin of the rhomboid muscles is from the spinous processes of the T2-T5 vertebra and inserts on the medial border of the scapula, just inferior to the rhomboid minor.
28 Ιουν 2023 · What is the rhomboid major muscle - Attachments, origin, insertion, location, anatomy, function, movements, antagonists, nerve & blood supply, & diagram.
20 Δεκ 2022 · The rhomboid major is a muscle located in the back that connects the scapula (shoulder blade) to the vertebrae of the spine. Along with the rhomboid minor muscle, it works to keep the scapula pressed against the thoracic wall (the back of the chest) and to move the scapula towards the spine.
Definition. The Rhomboid Major is a skeletal muscle located in the upper back, between the spine and the scapula. It acts to retract and rotate the scapula, playing a crucial role in maintaining posture and enabling shoulder movements.
Function. The rhomboid major helps to hold the scapula (and thus the upper limb) onto the ribcage. Other muscles that perform this function include the serratus anterior and pectoralis minor. Both rhomboids (major and minor) also act to retract the scapula, pulling it towards the vertebral column.
