19 Σεπ 2023 · Rhomboid major is a broad quadrilateral muscle that originates from the spinous processes of the second to second to fifth thoracic vertebrae (T2-T5). The muscle extends obliquely in an inferolateral direction to insert into the medial border of scapula, between the inferior angle and root of the spine of scapula.
28 Ιουν 2023 · Insertion. The muscle fibers run diagonally, converging into a narrow tendon as they reach the scapula’s medial border, where they insert between the bone’s inferior angle and spine. The point of insertion involves both the dorsal and costal facets of the scapula’s medial border.
2 Ιαν 2023 · Attachments: Originates from the spinous processes of T2-T5 vertebrae. Attaches to the medial border of the scapula, between the scapula spine and inferior angle. Actions: Retracts and rotates the scapula. Innervation: Dorsal scapular nerve. Blood Supply: Dorsal scapular artery. Fig 1. The superficial muscles of the back. Premium Feature. 3D Model.
21 Οκτ 2024 · The rhomboid major originates from just below the rhomboid minor. Similarly, both muscles insert into the medial border of the scapula, with the rhomboid major’s insertion point just below that of the rhomboid minor.
Origin. The rhomboid major arises from the spinous processes of the thoracic vertebrae T2–T5 as well as the supraspinous ligament. [2] Insertion. It inserts on the medial border of the scapula, from about the level of the scapular spine to the scapula's inferior angle. [2] Rhomboideus major muscle. Innervation. The scapular and circumflex arteries.
The rhomboid major is quadrangular muscle located inferior to the rhomboid minor. The origin of the rhomboid muscles is from the spinous processes of the T2-T5 vertebra and inserts on the medial border of the scapula, just inferior to the rhomboid minor.
