15 Αυγ 2017 · We visited South American twice on two different cruises. The first was on a cruise from Florida through the Panama Canal then down the west coast of SA to Chile. The second was a cruise from Buenos Aires that went around Cape Horn to Valparaiso, Chile.
15 Σεπ 2010 · South America is much less expensive to visit than Europe, especially if you stay out of cities like Rio and Buenos Aires. And expansion of travel beyond Europe – particularly in winter – is possibly a new market for Rick Steves but also not too far from the U.S. flag pole.

South America is huge, I only visited Argentina (which itself is huge) as an independent trip. Footprint guides are very good as background reading material and for planning purposes.
