9 Αυγ 2019 · There's a lot to do there. There's the lakefront. There's the Aquarium, the Field Museum (dinosaurs), and the Planetarium. The Art Institute is a world class art museum. The Oriental Institute is a little distance from the Loop (the main part of downtown), but is a wonderful small museum.
2 Απρ 2024 · The Emerald Loop is right there for late night dining. A lot of hotels in Chicago are in late dining deserts. The Chicago Architecture Center is nearby and I highly recommend one of their boat tours. Art Institute of Chicago is worth a few hours. I like The Gage, across Michigan Ave one block north. Otherwise not much of a foodie.
4 Οκτ 2021 · You can kayak on the river, visit Garfield Conservatory, visit OZ Park, take in a performance at the Green Mill Jazz Club, peruse the Dusty Groove record shop, visit the Chicago Art Museum, or the Field Museum or tour Wrigley Field.
I have gone on two tours with Rick Steves and both have been excellent, well-run tours. The accommodations did tend to vary from city to city, but overall his emphasize on family-run hotels with free breakfasts works well.
27 Ιαν 2016 · I would describe the Rick Steves’ company culture as casual, friendly, open, hard-working, liberal and smart. I may not know him on a really personal basis, but this is what I’ve gathered from working for Rick Steves over the years.
Here is my experience: You see all the must sees - I was overwhelmed with the logistics of planning a trip. And we were traveling with another couple. The stress of spending someone else's vacation money was off loaded. If a church was boring it wasn't my fault. But we didn't go to anything boring.
