Rio Carnival 2025 takes place from Friday, February 28, to Saturday, March 8. Key events include: Special Group Parades: March 2 and March 3 – These are the highlight events at the Sambadrome. Champions’ Parade: March 8 – A finale featuring the top samba schools of the year.
Saturday 1st March 2025 Access Group parade schedule: TBC Special Group: March 2nd, 3rd, 4th 2025 (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) This is the top-tier division, and it features the 12 most well-known and prestigious samba schools in Rio de Janeiro. 4 schools parade each day from Sunday to Tuesday.

The best Samba Schools parade in the Special Group. In all, there will be 12 schools divided between two days of show 11/02 – 12/02, disputing the title of Rio de Janeiro Carnival Champion. Schools will start the parades at 22:00. Each school will have about 60 minutes to cross the avenue and finish their presentation.
The parading order for the 2025 Rio Carnival is decided by raffle at a ceremony organized by LIESA, the body that organizes Carnival parades. The opening act at the Sambadrome is the Access Group Parade that will start at 10:30pm on Carnival Friday, February 28th, 2025.
