The target dose for most patients falls within the range of 1 mg to 3 mg per day, although some individuals may require higher doses up to 6 mg daily.
Results of clini-cal trials consistently suggested 4 to 6mg/day to be an appropriate dose range for patients with chronic schizo-phrenia. Lower doses were considered appropriate for pa-tients such as the elderly and those experiencing a first schizophrenic episode.
