The Robotech Masters launch a clandestine expedition to excavate the ruins of the SDF-1. They are discovered by two UEF soldiers on patrol. One soldier is captured and held in the Masters’ command vessel.
In Robotech, the SDF-2 dose not have a name mentioned (like the SDF-1). Unofficially, the SDF-2 has been reffered to as the Oddessy. In SDF Macross, the SDF-2 was supposidly going to be called the Megalord.
I think you have “#7. The SDF-2 was a Zentreadi Ship” incorrectly described. 1st neither Lisa nor Gloval actually place Lisa’s new command as the SDF-2. It is only assumed to be the SDF-2 given alternate continuities (novels & comics). If Lisa’s new command is decoupled from the SDF-2, it does allow the SDF-2 to be a rebuilt Zentreadi ship.
In Robotech LLA, Regess invaded right after 2nd Robotech War by LITERALLY FOLDED her Royal Hive HQ smack dab on the 3 mounds. So yes, the explanation that SDF-2 is among the ruins is debatable, but it was kinda necessary at the times, how flimsy it may seems. It does served the plot.
Because of their inadequacy, several ARMDs still in construction were instead permanently attached to the SDF-2. The ship wouldn't be launched until the rebuilding period, in 2014, when it was soon destroyed in Earth orbit by a surprise Zentraedi attack.
