RockAuto is a legitimate website which vets their distributors. They don’t actually “sell” parts - they’re more like eBay, in that distributors sell through them - but they’re attached to legitimate WD’s (warehouse distributors) who they vet and regulate.
I'm starting to think twice on rockauto authenticity. I remember buying an air filter from local store that's a wix authorized dealer. Then the next service I bought a wix filter from rockauto and it looks totally different. In fact the material is different and looks low quality. I took a picture side by side, only if I can post it here
I read all the negative reviews and they are correct. I read all the negative reviews about this company and saw their rating but also saw some positive things. I decided to five them a try and for a year and after ordering about $1800 worth of parts was pleasantly pleased until there was a problem. They shipped a fuel pump with a broken connector.

I don't know where you're seeing these reviews. Rock Auto doesn't manufacture auto parts. They sell parts from all kinds of suppliers at all kinds of price points. They've always got me stuff quickly at excellent prices. The one or two times I've had an issue they sent me a new part without even asking for the old one back.
