26 Φεβ 2001 · I became an owner of a 1977 Rockwell Commander 114 in November 1992. I remain very satisfied with the decision to purchase the Commander 114 and recommend the aircraft to anyone wishing to step up to a complex single. Its strongest features are its payload, comfort and value.
The Commander 114 beats the 112, solely because it has the 260 HP Lycoming IO540 engine. If compared to its true peers (similar engines and HP), it is a rather poor performer for its HP and fuel burn.
Commander 114 seems like an interesting option with excellent balance between price, speed, fuel consumption and comfort. Also there are a lot of low time commanders available on the market, however for some reason this aircraft is unpopular in GA and I’m wondering, why?
