Rococo painting represents the expression in painting of an aesthetic movement that flourished in Europe between the early and late 18th century, migrating to America and surviving in some regions until the mid-19th century. The painting of this movement is divided into two sharply differentiated camps.

The Swing – Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Jean-Honoré Fragonard was known as one of the most notable members of the Rococo movement. He painted several masterful works for the French royal family during his career, which spanned the latter half of the Rococo movement during the 18th century.
Possibly the most popular 18th century artist, Francois Boucher was a French painter in the Rococo style. When he was 17 years old, Boucher was apprenticed for a short time to the French painter Francois Lemoyne, and then to the engraver Jean-Francois Cars.
