Romans 8:27. Because he maketh intercession for (or, in) the saints according to the will of God. Whatever the spirit of God prompts us to pray for, is according to the mind of God, for it is not possible that the Holy Spirit should ever be otherwise than in perfect accord with the Divine Father.

Enduring Word Bible Commentary Romans Chapter 8. Romans 8 – A New and Wonderful Life in the Spirit. Audio for Romans 8: Romans 8:1-11 – God’s Grace Gives Me So Much in Jesus. Romans 8:12-29 – God’s Grace is Greater than Anything & Everything. A. Life in the Spirit contrasted with life in the flesh. 1. (1) No condemnation.
In Romans 8, the Apostle Paul relays to his readers the means by which the power of sin is broken; a solution that lies only in the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Corrected translation thus far of Romans 8:27: “That is, the one who, as an eternal spiritual truth, searches…” Romans 8:27, “And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
What does Romans 8:27 mean? Paul has revealed in Romans 8 that the life of a Christian on this side of eternity is one of waiting and longing to be with our God while enduring the suffering of this life.
Here Paul reveals the immeasurably comforting truth that the Holy Spirit comes alongside us and all creation in groaning for God’s ultimate day of restoration and His eternal reign of righteousness. (MacArthur, J: Romans 1-8. Chicago: Moody Press)
The Holy Spirit is the spring of all desires toward God, which are often more than words can utter. The Spirit who searches the hearts, can perceive the mind and will of the spirit, the renewed mind, and advocates his cause. The Spirit makes intercession to God, and the enemy prevails not.
