Some rooms are managed by the Office of Classroom Management, and you can request a reservation directly through our system. Other rooms are managed by colleges or groups on campus. You can find contact information in your filter results in order to reserve those rooms.
We use our Roommate Search tool for Room Sign-up to help those without roommates currently or anyone looking for additional roommates. Roommate Search asks students to answer several questions about themselves as well as about the type of roommate they would like.
Room Sign-Up (Returning Students) November 14 - 20, 2023 — All day The Returning Student Interest Form opens for current residents and returning students interested in campus housing from November 14 to 20.
This page allows you to search for a specific roommate. It needs to be a mutual request, so enter their Student ID on your application, and be sure they put your information on their application. If you see "Search Criteria" after entering someone's username, then your requested roommate is not yet in our system.

You don’t have to wait until you know the status of your admission to the University of Minnesota to apply. Applying early puts you in a better position to get one of your preferred buildings or room types, and all that is needed is a non-refundable $50 housing application fee. NEW 2025-2026
