15 Δεκ 2017 · Song of Solomon 2:1 (RSV) — “I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.” In the above verse, the prospective Bride of Christ is speaking. Notice that in the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, the text says not “the rose,” but “ a rose,” and it is likewise in the NIV. This indicates humility.
The chorus goes as follows: Creator God, He is Yahweh. The Great I Am, He is Yahweh. The Lord of All, He is Yahweh. Rose of Sharon, He is Yahweh. The Righteous Son, He is Yahweh. The Three-in-one, He is Yahweh. Of course, the emphasis is mine.
Song of Solomon 2:1-2. I am the rose of Sharon — These are the words of the bridegroom. He compares himself to the rose and lily, for fragrancy and beauty. Sharon was a very fruitful place, and famous for roses.
