The drag gears on my Flystart reel wore out after a couple years, and I sent it to Ross expecting to have it repaired. Instead, someone from 3M contacted me, asking me to pay a fee (although they initially didn't say how much).

13 Σεπ 2008 · I am just getting in to flyfishing and was thinking of getting the 5/6 weight Ross flystart reel. Does anyone have any experience with these reels? It looks good to me right now, but just looking for some imput!
5 Φεβ 2020 · The discontinued Ross Colorado reel is an outstandingly high quality trout reel. It is machined and has very fine tolerances, better than a Hardy. They can be found used for about $110, the same price they sold for new 18 years ago, and still worth every penny if well made quality at an affordable price is what you want.
