The charity provides business support, grants and market connections to help social entrepreneurs prove new business models in low-income communities. In 2020, Shell Foundation made additional funding available to help early-stage businesses it supports remain financially resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic.
2 Ιουλ 2021 · 2 Jul 2021. The project, backed by a European consortium, will accelerate hydrogen production and contribute to Europe’s goal to achieve climate neutrality. Europe’s largest PEM hydrogen electrolyser*, today began operations at Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland, producing green hydrogen.
The intent of our social investment programmes is to benefit society and the environment where we operate, and also to create a more positive local business environment for Shell. As well as responding to local social investment priorities, we have three global social investment themes:
SF provides business support, grant funding and market links to help social enterprises prove their models, achieve financial independence and expand into new markets. Once a social enterprise model has proved viable and able to scale, SF creates intermediary businesses and industry associations to support market growth.
We do that in three ways: Through the GameChanger Programme, we help start-ups prove the commercial viability of their technologies and solutions.
