GPT-4 is very slow compared to 3, and very limited due to the extremely low cap that sporadically is always hit. 3.5 is better if you just want quick infos. 4 is better for coding and long creative tasks.
Totally different angle: 4 is also a much better storyteller. I have had it write “bedtime stories” in different styles, and it can imitate writing styles, tell complete narratives, and be internally consistent (ie referencing earlier plot points or characters correctly) much better than 3.5.
