For this tutorial, we will teach you to solve the Rubik’s cube by layer by layer in 5 easy steps: STEP 1 - COMPLETE THE FIRST LAYER CROSS. STEP 2 - COMPLETE THE FIRST LAYER CORNERS. STEP 3 - COMPLETE SECOND LAYER. STEP 4 - COMPLETE THE THIRD LAYER CROSS.
If you get stuck or you don't understand something, the online Rubik's Cube solver program will help you quickly fix your puzzle. All you have to do is input your scramble and the program will calculate the steps leading to the solution.
When the pieces are solved. An edge piece is solved if both stickers match both centers. A corner piece is solved if all three stickers match all three centers. All pieces have ONE place they belong when solved.
Part 1: First Layer Edges. Your first objective is to solve the four white edges, building a cross on your first layer as shown below. Note that each white edge piece has another color sticker on it. When the white cross is completed, this other color has to match the center piece it's adjacent to.
