14 Μαρ 2017 · 1. The General Rubric. This type of rubric defines characteristics of a successful artwork. It is “general,” meaning it does not define specific criteria for each project. Instead, it might define characteristics such as “technique” or “craftsmanship” you are looking for in each completed project.
Here is why I think art rubrics are important, how to use them and how to create a rubric for your art lessons.

29 Ιαν 2022 · These 5 parts may be a good way to assess many art projects, but some projects may require special rubrics. If you did a puppetry unit and incorporated a performance component, that might need a separate rubric or be included in a unique rubric you create for that project.
I developed this art grading rubric for middle and high school art projects. It allows student artwork to be evaluated in 5 areas - Elements of Art, Principals of Design, Creativity/Problem Solving, Craftsmanship, and Effort.
These IB rubrics have changed dramatically over the years, but I think these simpler rating scales are just fine! I’ve adapted it for not only K-12 art classes but also university art education and liberal arts courses.
