I want one for a "shooter", but I'm having a hard time swallowing the current collector-driven prices. Any quirks in operation or takedown? Accuracy? Does anyone know if the barrel is similar to, or exactly the same as, a 10/22?
12 Νοε 2015 · I've found one of my grail guns, Ruger 96/22 in good shape looks like a berch stock, asking price is $475. Quick Google search shows that to be the going rate. What do I need to know?
23 Αυγ 2017 · The 96/22 should give you fine accuracy - they are actually pretty highly sought after rifles in the US, but compared to the 10/22, not many were made. But when one is up for sale, if the condition is good, they are priced north of $400 in these parts.
24 Ιουν 2014 · The short-throw action is comfortable, fast, and smooth enough. It’s quite easy to keep the rifle shouldered and on-target while cycling the action. You’ll be able to spit out rounds faster than a bolt action rifle, but won’t enjoy any “spray and pray” fun like the 10/22 can offer. The trigger pull is heavy.
