25 Μαΐ 2024 · When I took the stock off to put a sling swivel on, it didn’t look like there was much meat to just drill and put the machine screw on. I can’t find anything online like a curved plate or something specific for this Zytel stock.

An alternative would be to use swivels designed for building contemporary "traditional/historic" muzzleloading rifles.
4 Μαΐ 2013 · Installing a sling on a synthetic factory stock. The buttstock shell is too thin to use a typical screw thread sling mount, and I don't wish to use a sling that loops around the stock. If the buttplate were readily removeable, it would be pretty simple to mount the rear swivel by inserting a filler block for the screw.
20 Ιουν 2019 · These Sling Swivel Studs are Excellent for adding sling mounts to the rifle stock that didn't have them originally. Tip: drill a pilot about 1/2 the screw diameter to avoid splitting the wood and lubricate the threads with a bar of soap.
8 Σεπ 2013 · These are instructions for installing simple swivel studs/screws into a Ruger 10/22 Carbine stock. I've used the plain, Ruger factory synthetic stock for this. This is as easy as a modification can possibly get.
Install the sling studs, tighten, and then carefully pack around the stud screws and nut with a mound of JB epoxy putty. Reassemble the stock to the receiver and barrel and after the epoxy has hardened - you are good to go.
