  5. NYC Criminal Court. # Legal Statements: Every single time there is a legal statement (i.e. stating a law or doing legal analysis), there must be a legal cite to support that in that statement. # Factual statements do not need legal citations.

  7. All cites should be placed in endnotes. endnotes, italicize article titles in journals. In text, article t. “In re,” not “Matter of.”—“Dep’t,” not “Dept.” Use two underlines instead of blank spaces to indicate that a cite is missing. Use ampersand between author names in endnotes (but don’t use in heads, bylines).
